Kurze Vorbereitung – die Objektivaufnahme des Candy wird ein wenig aufgeweitet, damit sich der Adapterring einsetzen laesst.

Damit das Objektiv nicht zusammensackt wurde die Fokuseinstellung mit Tape festgesetzt. Fokus im zweiten Drittel des Spiegels gesetzt, zusammen mit f19 sollte ein ausreichender Tiefenschaerfebereich erreicht werden werden.
I fixed the focus adjustment with tape to avoid sagging. Focus is set to the second third of the mirror, together with stopping down the lens to f19 should achieve a sufficient dof.

Der one-Shot-Vorsatz liefert solche Donuts. Hier sieht man einige ungewoehnliche Verzerrungen, die ihre Ursache in der Unebenheit der Traegerscheibe haben duerften. Zum Vergroessern auf das Bild klicken.

Fazit – es ist wie ueberall im Leben. Man bekommt, was man zu zahlen bereit ist. Da einige Fehler im Design erst nachgearbeitet werden muessen, um den Candy vielleicht aehnlich einem professionelleren one-shot nutzen zu koennen, verbietet sich ein vollmundiger Vergleich mit teureren one-shot Produkten eigentlich. Besonders enttaeuscht hat mich das stark eingeschraenkte Gesichtsfeld – ich mag keine 360-mal-100-Grad-Panos mit dem Stativ drauf.
My conclusion – you get what you pay for. Several design problems need attention a professional one-shot does not need. So comparing the Candy with the pro one-shots is prohibiting itself. What I do not like at one-shots in general is the limited fov. I´m a 360×180 person.

Problem ist meist die Zenitaufnahme. Beim Schwenk stoesst das Display an den Rotator-Knopf (Pentax K10d mit 10-17, NPP-Einstellung 91mm).
The most common problem – when swiveling into the position for the zenith shot the camera display hits the rotator knob.

Eine moegliche Loesung ist so ein Block, der zwischen Horizontalschiene und Vertikalarm eingebaut wird. Das Bringt etwa 20mm mehr nutzbare Hoehe.
One possible solution is such a block. It is placed between the horizontal and the vertical rail. Gain of height app. 20mm.

Der Block hat unten die Masse des originalen Vertikalarms, oben eine entsprechende Aussparung. So bleibt die Einstellung am Horizontalarm erhalten.
The lower end of the block has the same dimensions as the vertical rail. On top of the block there are stops in all directions. So there is no offset.

Der Block wird durch eine laengere 1/4″Schraube gehalten.
The block is held in position with a longer 1/4″ screw.

Eine andere Moeglichkeit ist es, den Horizontalarm samt Rotator komplett zu ersetzen. Dies beseitigt einen weiteren Schwachpunkt – den NN3-MK1-Rotator.
Another possible solution is the complete replacement of the original horizontal rail and rotator. This eliminates another weakness of the head – the Mk1-rotator.

Durch den fehlenden Rotatorknopf gewinnt man so ebenfalls etwa 20mm Hoehe.
Due to the missing rotator knob one gains 20mm extra.

Mittlerweile ueberlege ich, einen der neuen Rotatoren aus dem NN-Programm unter den originalen Horizontalarm zu bauen. Die sind einfach klasse. Aber eigentlich benutze ich meinen NN3 nur noch gelegentlich zum Ausmessen des NPP neuer Objektive.. .
Meanwhile I think about mounting one of NNs new rotators under the original horizontal rail. These new rotators are simply great. But I rarely use my NN3 these days, mostly for finding the NPP of new lenses.. .

Zwischen Spike und Monopod kann eine CD eingeklemmt werden. Auf dieser koennte man sich verschiedene Reilungen aufzeichnen.
A CD can be placed between the spike and the monopod. There one could mark different stops.

Hier ist die Klammer zusammen mit dem SlimRotator und dem Ring-NPA im Einsatz.

Mit dem Spike unten kann ich das Monopod ohne Umbau normal einsetzen.
The spike allows me immediate standard use of the monopod wichout changing parts.

Durch den Guertelbuegel erreiche ich eine etwa 1,10 Meter groessere maximale Hoehe. Das reicht in vielen Faellen, um ueber Menschen hinweg zu fotografieren oder den gewissen Aha-Effekt durch die ungewoehnliche Perspektive zu erreichen.
So the monopod reaches an extra 1,10 meters height. Enough to take a photo over crowds of people and to gain an elevated perspective.

Ausgerichtet wird das Beltpod mit der Manfrotto-Klemmlibelle, der kleine Klick-Rotator sorgt fuer die korrekte Teilung. Bei 90° kein Problem, aber bei 60° sicherer.
The Manfrotto bulleye level keeps the monopod upright, my click rotator helps me to get the right angle between two shots. Not a problem with 90 degs, but with 60 degs.

I always wanted to match the original sound to my panoramas. After several experiments I decided to get a Zoom H2. It has integrated microphones, so one does not have to carry several parts around. The recorder saves the files on a SD memory card which can be processed in the computer immediately.
